Who are we?

LDTravOcean (LD TravOcean) is a leading international company specialized in the installation and protection of submarine cables.

Based in Marseille, the company now brings together around 150 dedicated professionals, experts in cable installation engineering, equipment design and development, and marine operations management across the globe.

HISTORY

Founded in Marseille in 1977, TravOcean was established to meet the growing demand for marine construction projects.

In 1978, the company achieved a major milestone with its participation in the IFA 2000 project, installing two 45 km pairs of submarine power cables between France and the United Kingdom for Électricité de France — a pioneering project that marked the beginning of a long series of achievements in the power cable sector.

In 1998, TravOcean became a wholly owned subsidiary of the LD Armateurs Group and was renamed LD TravOcean.
Over the years, the company has expanded its expertise to the oil & gas, telecommunication, and more recently, offshore renewable energy sectors.

With over 40 years of experience, LD TravOcean continues to move forward — driven by innovation, operational excellence, and a firm commitment to the energy transition.e.
