Our commitment to the environment

Because our activities take place in sensitive marine ecosystems, environmental protection is a priority for LD Travocean. We rely on an ISO 14001-2015 certified management system, integrated into our HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment, Quality) approach and applied at all levels of the organization.

Strategy

Our strategy is based on three pillars:

  1. Assessing and controlling environmental impacts: each project is subject to a rigorous analysis of environmental risks and the monitoring of specific indicators (GHGs, waste, pollution, etc.).
  2. Prevent pollution: through rigorous maintenance, appropriate technical choices, strict prevention procedures and specific emergency plans. At sea, our operations scrupulously comply with the requirements of the international MARPOL convention.
  3. Waste management: by systematically sorting our waste, working with certified partners, reconditioning our equipment at the end of its life cycle and using treatment methods that comply with current regulations, both on land and at sea.

We engage all our staff and partners in a continuous improvement process, disseminating best practices, raising team awareness, and requiring our partners to meet the same environmental standards as we do.

Quality and safety

From the quality of our services to the safety of our teams

For over 40 years, we have built our reputation on the quality of our services, the safety of our employees and the satisfaction of our customers.
Our quality and safety policy is based on technical excellence, operational rigor and a strong culture of risk prevention.

Engagements

These commitments are recognized by international certifications:

ISO 9001 for quality and ISO 45001 for occupational health and safety, as part of our HSEQ integrated management system. Each project is accompanied by a specific HSEQ plan, guaranteeing compliance with regulatory, contractual and internal requirements. This structuring framework enables us to integrate quality, safety and environmental issues from the earliest engineering phases, right through to final delivery.

Guaranteeing reliable, high-performance services

Our services are backed by multidisciplinary, responsive and experienced teams, capable of adapting to complex and demanding environments. Each project benefits from our proven know-how and high level of technical expertise.
This demand for performance also rests on the quality of our equipment, designed by our in-house design office on the basis of solid feedback from field experience. In collaboration with recognized suppliers, we select the best spare parts to guarantee the robustness and durability of our machines.
Each piece of equipment undergoes rigorous validation tests (Factory Acceptance Tests) before being put into service. A computer-aided management system (CMMS) is then used to monitor, preventive maintenance and traceability, reinforcing the reliability and performance of our operations.

Preventing accidents

We carry out a systematic risk assessment for each site and apply our 9 vital rules, specifically designed to address the risks inherent in our business.
These rules are supplemented by specific measures defined on a project-by-project basis, according to the hazards identified upstream and in the field. To further reinforce this approach, we have developed best practice guides, particularly for critical operations such as working at height or lifting operations. These practical aids are distributed to all teams to ensure a high level of prevention and shared safety.

Training and empowering our teams

Each employee benefits from a structured induction program and ongoing training covering technical, HSE and behavioral aspects (soft skills). Some of this training is provided at our in-house training center in La Ciotat, a facility dedicated to skills development and the sharing of best practices.
This dynamic is part of a shared HSE culture that values prevention, risk anticipation and feedback. In concrete terms, this means daily safety briefings (Toolbox Meetings), the use of the HSEQ+ application to report and monitor actions in the field, and the regular dissemination of feedback via internal newsletters or HSE flashes.

Sustainable development

Our approach to sustainable development

At LD Travocean, sustainable development guides all our decisions and practices, far beyond simply protecting the environment. Our approach is based on three pillars: the environment, human commitment and social responsibility.

Actively supporting the energy transition

As a committed player in marine renewable energies, we are making a tangible contribution to the energy transition.
Since 2011, LDTVO has installed more than 2,000 km of inter-wind farm cables in Europe – almost 25% of the European total – and maintains export cables for offshore wind farms in France.
Our work helps to connect clean energy infrastructures over the long term, thereby significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions at local level.

Making people a lever for sustainability

Sustainable development also means investing in skills, equality and quality of life at work.
Our HR policy promotes diversity, inclusion and long-term professional development.
The in-house training center based in La Ciotat enables us to train our employees in the specificities of our businesses, while integrating HSE issues and technological developments.
We also implement concrete actions to prevent psychosocial risks and ensure professional equality.

Acting responsibly and setting an example

Our commitments do not stop at our own operations. We adopt ethical and transparent governance, in line with Groupe LD Armateurs’ code of conduct: anti-corruption, fairness, confidentiality, traceability.
Our responsible purchasing policy promotes sustainable partnerships, based on trust, regulatory compliance and high environmental standards.

Innovating for a sustainable future

We develop high-performance, sustainable technical solutions, designed in-house on the basis of operational feedback, in partnership with reliable suppliers.
Our vessels, equipment and intervention methods are selected and optimized to limit environmental impact, extend equipment life and facilitate reconditioning.
Finally, we systematically integrate sustainable development issues into the design of our projects, with a view to continuous innovation in the public interest.
